Extractions are some times indicated when a tooth does not have any hope for survival. In this case, the tooth has to be removed due to the pain experienced by the patient. Or due to the damage keeping the tooth may pose on the adjacent teeth and structure.
Most of the times, a bone graft will greatly help to maintain the integrity and level of bone needed to restore the missing area after the tooth is removed.
This procedure is called a bone graft and ridge preservation. Dr. Yazdi will discuss this option with you prior to your extraction.
